Well, I finished Mercury last night on schedule, and I wasn’t entirely happy with it. The same thing happened with the Moon, so I decided to sleep on it and see if thing looked better in the morning. They didn’t–it was too flat and dull, not a very Mercury-like trait. Then my husband walked in and told me what would really make it pop. So I’ll be touching up Mercury tonight as well as tackling Jupiter.
Hooray for snags in the creative process!
*nods* This is actually something I do a lot of – I tend to art at nighttime (I’m more of a night person in general), and if I’m not entirely 100% satisfied with something I’ll look at it again during the day in the different light and see wot needs tweaking. (I’m fairly obsessive with my own art as far as detail and so on, I notice things that a lot of people never do and never give a crap about, and will usually make 50 very minor adjustments to a piece after it’s done, before it’s done-done. But that’s my three-planets-in-Virgo crazy speaking.)
